Bret Mischlich has been a PE teacher in the Lewis Palmer School District D38 for over 22 years. He is a 4th Degree Black Belt and an accomplished International TaeKwonDo athlete, a 4th degree Black belt, certified through the Kukkiwon. Having started TaeKwonDo at the age of 8 and began as a teaching instructor at the age of 10 (helping to teach after school programs). He has offered his after-school program in the district for 20 years, providing students with elite TaeKwonDo instruction while making it affordable to those whom may have never been able to afford the typical TaeKwonDo school costs.

In 2025, he won a gold medal at the U.S. Masters Cup, earning a place on the U.S. Masters Team, competing for the Team in the World Masters Games in Taipei, Taiwan.

In 2023, he was a gold medalist in the Asia Pacific Games in South Korea.

In 2017, he competed in the U.S. Open TaeKwondo Champtionships (WTF G2 Ranking Event) and won the bronze medal competing against Norway, Iran, Martinique, and Canada.
